The KANSEPT Flank Fixed Blade Knife comes packaged in a matte black box which makes it ideal for gifting until you open it and all the pieces are loose inside. For a 50 dollar knife you would think they would have had some foam cut to shape rather than some bubble wrap.
The package contains the knife, a sheath, a microfiber cloth and 2 stickers. The sheath is adjustable from vertical to horizontal so you can angle it just right for your own needs, however it is very tight to get the knife to lock in. I don't want the knife to fall out, but I also don't want to have to use 2 hands.
The blade is nice, made of D2 steel, not my favorite blade material, but it does hold an edge once you get it there. This edge was sharp out of the box, but not shaving sharp, and very few knives in this price point come that way these days.
This has a full tang blade which I appreciate, but the handle is so small that the knife is not well balanced. For those of us with larger hands, this knife is actually very awkward to use and I found my fingers getting tired and crampy after just moderate use having to pinch the handle rather than grip it.
Overall the knife looks good and the blade is hard and sharp, but the handle size and off balance feel just doesn't cut it for me. Also, keep your D2 steel blade clean and oiled, it is quite prone to rusting.
