UVJEANIGHT Blacklight Flashlight

The first thing to note about this UVJEANIGHT Blacklight flashlight is that there is a built in filter which removes most of the visible light generated by the UV LED, so you get more pure UV illumination with less light bleed.

I was pleasantly surprised that this light came with a soft case to keep everything together. The flashlight is powered by a rechargeable 3.7v Li Ion battery which needs to be removed from the light to recharge it, but they included a USB charger to take care of that. It's a good job a case was included to keep track of the charger and the USB cable, and maybe a spare 3.7v battery (not included) to use while the other is charging.

The LED generates quite a bit of heat due to the intensity of the beam and the head of the flashlight does get warm after just moderate use. There are cooling fins which help it from getting too hot, but be aware.

There is a fluorescent green ring around the edge of the filter which glows when the light is on, and I would like to think this is there by design so you can see when the light is on since UV light is beyond the range of human vision but is very harmful to eyes.

The on/off switch is a simple push button toggle switch in the butt of the flashlight which you press with a definite and satisfying click so you when you are turning it on and off.

Overall I like this UV flashlight. It is bright (in a UV sense) and effective when shining it on UV sensitive material, even in daylight. It's a good size and is comfortable to hold and operate. The fact that you have to remove the battery to charge it is a small consideration but hardly a dealbreaker for me since it lasts for a while between charges. Go buy one now and aim it at your toilet to see how much you splash when you pee.
