I was super happy to be chosen to write the review for this Portable High Speed Cell Phone Charger even though the name is slightly misleading, since it will charge absolutely anything which is normally charged via USB. I have seen a few of these portable USB battery packs in my time, and this is definitely one of the best I have used.
Gnome Workshop Portable Charger |
The first winning feature is the dual output which allows you to charge a phone and a tablet (for example) at the same time. And this beauty has the oomph to back that up with 10,000 mAh of power, so it will still have some juice left after reloading 2 devices from empty to full. I have never found myself in the situation where I need to charge 2 totally dry devices, but if I do, I'm set.
Sexy LEDs |
Another attractive feature is the charge level meter which comprises 4 sexy blue LEDs that light up to show how much power this portable lifesaver has left. 4 lights on means full power, 1 light left means time to reload.
There is a single power button which controls all of the functions for this device. One press turns the power on, two quick presses turns it off again, but if you press and hold the power button, the flashlight turns on.
Comes with a built-in flashlight |
Ok, stop, rewind... flashlight? Yep, this is not just a portable USB charger, it also has a flashlight built in. Not a super bright take the kids out on Hallowe'en flashlight, but enough to find our car keys when you drop them in a dark parking lot, or to light your way to the flashlight drawer if the power goes out in your home (and if the power DOES go out, then you can still charge your phone too. BONUS)
The only other thing this portable charger needs is a speaker and an mp3 player (take note Gnome Workshop), aside from that, how could you not love this cool little box. They pack all of this techy goodness into a 10 ounce box which measures 5.5 x 2.5 x 0.8 inches. Big enough to notice but not so big to make it awkward.
I would recommend this USB charger to anybody who complains about the battery life on their phone or tablet or GoPro or any other USB device. I have already got a lot of use from it, and will definitely get lots more use in the future.
Disclosure: I received this item for free in exchange for the honest and unbiased review above.
